Position Overview
Vital Body Wellness is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with a focus on orthopedic care to join our team in Carson City, Nevada. In this full-time role, you will be an integral part of our outpatient facility, working closely under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the implementation of personalized therapy plans and contributing to the recovery and rehabilitation of patients with orthopedic conditions.

Work Environment
Your work will take place onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility located in Carson City. The environment fosters teamwork and inter-professional collaboration among physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Operating between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM from Monday to Friday, the schedule allows for a balance of work and personal commitments while putting emphasis on quality patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physical therapists in the collection of essential patient data, including relevant tests and measures during initial evaluations, ensuring an accurate depiction of patient status to inform treatment plans.
Play an active role in implementing individualized therapy plans for each assigned patient, performing necessary therapy procedures and related tasks as delegated by the supervising therapist.
Monitor and adjust treatment techniques based on the patient's changing physical status and functional capabilities, ensuring compliance with the therapy plan of care designed by the licensed therapist.
Identify and communicate any significant changes in a patient’s physical or mental condition to the supervising therapist, aiding in prompt and appropriate adjustments to the treatment regime.
Collaborate with team members and coordinate treatment programs with other clinical services and community resources as needed for a holistic patient approach.
Participate in clinical meetings to facilitate effective communication and coordination within the care team, enhancing the quality of patient service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with patients dealing with various orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. Providing compassionate care and tailored rehabilitation plans, you will help clients regain strength and mobility, enhancing their overall quality of life. Your interactions will not only involve patients but also their families, ensuring they understand the therapy process and can support their loved ones appropriately during their recovery journey.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, coupled with certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
A current Physical Therapy Assistant License in the state of Nevada is required at the time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be completed within 30 days of employment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Demonstrable competence in a variety of physical therapy treatment techniques, particularly in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required, candidates with direct experience in orthopedic rehabilitation will be prioritized. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is highly valued, and experience managing a diverse patient population will be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
