Position Overview
Function Better Physical Therapy Assistant Services is in search of a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to enhance our team at our state-of-the-art hospital located in Long Beach, New York. This full-time position requires an energetic individual who is eager to collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to provide exceptional care, primarily for patients undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping individuals regain their mobility and improve their overall quality of life.

Work Environment
The position will be on-site in our hospital facility, where you will work 40 to 45 hours per week, generally from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and adhering to the individualized Plan of Care as developed by the Physical Therapist (PT).
- Provide hands-on manual therapy and functional exercises tailored to each patient’s specific needs, focusing on recovery of mobility and function.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient progress, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as billing practices.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians and rehabilitation specialists, to deliver personalized care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and the recovery process, establishing a strong therapeutic relationship.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The PTA will primarily work with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Qualifications
- NYS Licensure: Must possess a current New York State License for Physical Therapy Assistants.
- Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.

Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 60,000 per year, with opportunities for additional productivity bonuses. Our benefits package includes:
