Function Better Physical Therapy Assistant Services is currently seeking a compassionate and driven Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Poughkeepsie, New York. In this full-time role, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver exceptional care aimed at improving patient mobility and overall quality of life. Work Environment
The position is based onsite in a hospital facility, providing a supportive atmosphere where collaboration among healthcare professionals is encouraged. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing the individualized Plan of Care, ensuring that therapeutic interventions align with patient goals.
- Deliver hands-on manual therapy techniques and facilitate functional exercise regimens tailored to each patient’s abilities and needs.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment sessions, ensuring compliance with billing practices and regulation adherence.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors and other health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care that integrates various therapeutic approaches.
- Uphold state and federal regulations during all aspects of patient care, safeguarding both patient rights and clinical integrity.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role entails working with a diverse patient population, primarily those recovering from orthopedic injuries or surgeries. Our focus is on restoring mobility and enhancing physical function through tailored rehabilitation programs. You will engage with patients of various ages and backgrounds, providing personalized care that addresses physical limitations while encouraging emotional well-being throughout their recovery process.
Qualifications
- Current New York State License for Physical Therapy Assistants (NYS Licensure) is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is mandatory.
- Strong clinical mindset with the ability to navigate patient care and business needs effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
- The salary range for this position is between USD 50,000 and 60,000 annually, with opportunities for productivity bonuses.
