Position Overview
Work It PT is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in Walden, New York. In this full-time role, the PTA will operate primarily within a hospital environment, providing essential support to individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care, aiding patients in regaining mobility, strength, and overall functionality.

Work Environment
The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in a bustling hospital setting where collaboration among various healthcare professionals is essential. Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans as designed by licensed Physical Therapists, using tailored approaches to address each patient’s specific needs.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility training techniques to facilitate a gradual return to daily activities.
- Leverage rehabilitation techniques and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy to enhance the recovery process.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting changes and reporting critical information to supervising Physical Therapists to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on best practices for home exercise programs and continued care to ensure long-term success.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient care and progress in compliance with hospital standards and regulations.
- Work in tandem with an interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care and optimize patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, the PTA will treat a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and chronic illnesses. The patient population may include elderly individuals requiring rehabilitation after falls or surgeries, as well as younger patients recovering from sports injuries. The PTA will play a crucial role in supporting patients through their therapy journey, assisting in their goals of improved mobility and return to daily life activities.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- Licensure: Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New York.

Compensation and Benefits
Work It PT offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with an attractive benefits package.
