Position Overview
Barton PT and Rehab Clinic is seeking a dedicated and capable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to implement individualized patient care plans aimed at enhancing mobility and improving overall physical function. Work Environment
This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, where you will work Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our clinic, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the lead physical therapist in executing highly personalized treatment plans aimed at improving the motor functions of our patients.
- Conducting therapeutic exercises and functional activities that encourage physical wellness and promote independence in patients.
- Regularly documenting patient progress, outcomes, and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans, ensuring you collaborate closely with the supervising therapist.
- Maintaining accurate and current patient records while adhering to all relevant regulations established by the state and medical facility.
- Participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and discussions that center on patient goals and progress, offering your professional insights as necessary.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse range of patients, including children and adults undergoing rehabilitation from injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions that impact their mobility. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Current certification and licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in a physical therapy setting, demonstrating comprehensive skills in patient care and collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, which are essential for building effective relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
