Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a hospital in Yonkers, New York, providing a conducive environment for hands-on patient care. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to coordinate effective care strategies. Our hours are generally Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans focused on improving patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities aimed at alleviating pain and promoting physical wellness.
• Educate patients about proper body mechanics and exercise techniques to encourage self-management and independence in their recovery journey.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength gains, and overall functional improvement.
• Ensure therapy areas are well-prepared, with supplies organized and equipment readily available for optimal session flow.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance the care experience and optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering an uplifting and motivating environment.
• Uphold ethical practices and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Compensation and Benefits
