As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a critical role in helping patients regain mobility and improve their overall physical function. Work Environment

This position is situated within a modern hospital facility in North Chili, NY, designed to provide patients with state-of-the-art rehabilitation resources. You will work closely alongside physical therapists, healthcare support staff, and other healthcare professionals in a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork and shared goals. Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists in the development and execution of individualized treatment plans to promote patient recovery.
  • Implement therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques in accordance with the prescribed treatment protocols, ensuring technical competence in all interventions.
  • Provide clear instruction and guidance to patients during exercise routines, ensuring a strong understanding of techniques aimed at improving strength and mobility.
  • Assess patient needs through regular evaluations and modify treatment strategies as needed, always prioritizing patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Stay updated with the latest research in physical therapy to incorporate best practices in function restoration and injury prevention.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitate effective treatment progress tracking.
  • Gather required patient data and observations to assist in developing comprehensive treatment reports.
  • Actively participate in team discussions regarding patient care approaches and contribute to care planning.
  • Maintain adherence to ethical guidelines and legal regulations in adherence to professional standards within the physical therapy field.
  • Commit to ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in rehabilitation therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will be primarily working with a diverse range of patients in the acute rehabilitation setting, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, neurological disorders, or chronic conditions. Your ability to exhibit empathy and recognize individual differences will significantly enhance the patients' rehabilitation experience, ultimately contributing to their emotional and physical well-being.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or relevant field is required.
  • A valid physical therapist assistant license or certification as recognized by state regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and how they relate to rehabilitation best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the application of therapeutic exercises and use of physical modalities.
  • Exceptional communication abilities to educate and motivate patients effectively.
  • Skills in healthcare administration and documentation to facilitate seamless patient care operations.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior work experience as a physical therapist assistant, especially in an acute care or rehabilitative environment, is preferred.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
