Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Rochester, New York. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite in a collaborative hospital setting, engaging with a diverse patient population and a multidisciplinary team of professionals. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to meet patient needs and streamline clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the licensed Physical Therapist in developing and executing individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Guide patients through a range of therapeutic exercises, stretching techniques, and activities specifically designed to promote physical well-being and manage pain.
  • Educate patients on body mechanics and exercise methods, providing tailored home exercise programs to support their recovery journey.
  • Administer physical therapy modalities, including electrical stimulation and ultrasound, while ensuring close adherence to protocols under the Physical Therapist's supervision.
  • Document and monitor patient progress meticulously, evaluating range of motion, strength increases, and functional improvements to inform treatment plans.
  • Maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all therapeutic equipment and supplies are organized and ready for patient use.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support to patients, fostering a positive and encouraging rehabilitation environment.
  • Uphold ethical standards in every interaction while maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting individual rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work with a varied patient demographic, from pediatric clients recovering from sports injuries to geriatric patients undergoing rehabilitation post-surgery or chronic injury. Each treatment plan will be personalized based on the specific challenges and goals presented by the patient, ensuring a holistic approach to their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Hold a valid PTA license or certification in the state of New York.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and the principles of therapeutic interventions applicable to the field of physical therapy.
  • Proven ability to implement therapeutic modalities and exercises under supervision, effectively adapting to diverse patient needs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, establishing rapport with patients and working collaboratively with healthcare teams.

Compensation and Benefits
