Position Overview
We are currently searching for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral part of our rehabilitation team at Work It PT. Located in Warwick, New York, this full-time position will allow you to work closely with patients to support their recovery journey under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure each patient's unique needs are met effectively.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and daily living activities, focusing on mobility enhancement and pain reduction.
- Utilize therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to support patient treatment protocols.
- Continuously monitor patient progress, maintaining accurate documentation of treatment outcomes and relaying pertinent information to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding home exercise programs and approaches to maintain recovery outside of therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with a dynamic healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your focus will be on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, chronic conditions, and injuries. As a PTA, you will play a critical role in their rehabilitation journey, utilizing your skills to help them regain independence in their daily lives.
Qualifications
- Education: Must possess an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Licensure: An active and valid PTA license in the state of New York is required.
