Position Overview
The Personal Touch Physical Therapy Group is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Redwood City, California. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in helping patients recover from injuries and enhance their physical capabilities. With a focus on orthopedic outpatient therapy, you will implement tailored treatment plans, support patients through therapeutic exercises, and engage in hands-on therapy.

Work Environment
Located within a hospital facility in Redwood City, our clinic is well-equipped with the latest rehabilitation technology. The environment is designed to support collaboration among healthcare professionals, allowing for integrated care that enhances the recovery process. You will work onsite from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, ensuring work-life balance while serving our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in guiding patients through prescribed therapy exercises, monitoring their progress, and providing feedback to enhance their rehabilitation efforts.
- Support hands-on therapy sessions and the effective use of rehabilitation equipment, ensuring that patients are safe and comfortable throughout their treatments.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on customized treatment plans, instructing them on at-home exercises and wellness strategies to manage their conditions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using EMR systems like WebPT, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while adjusting therapy plans as patients progress.
- Collaborate with physical therapists and other medical professionals to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment goals proactively.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work primarily with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Your role will involve tailoring therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each patient, promoting recovery, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid PTA license issued by the state of California, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of orthopedic conditions and treatments.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT, to streamline documentation and communication.
- A strong background in manual therapy techniques to enhance patient outcomes through effective hands-on interventions.
Preferred Experience
While two years of experience is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized areas of physical therapy or advanced certifications in manual therapy will be highly regarded. Your ability to engage with patients and foster a relationship built on trust and motivation will be critical in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to monetary compensation, our benefits package includes:
