We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Pillar Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in New Windsor, New York. Work Environment

The PTA position is full-time and based in our hospital facility located in New Windsor, New York. Working within an onsite setting, you will interact directly with patients in their recovery journey. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, creating a structured yet dynamic environment. You will play a key role in our multidisciplinary team, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and modality-based interventions tailored to patient-specific recovery goals.
  • Accurately document patient progress and treatment outcomes within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate and support patients in performing exercises and understanding body mechanics to foster independence in their rehabilitation journey.
  • Monitor patient safety, adherence to treatment protocols, and improve technique throughout therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, administrative staff, and referring healthcare providers to create a cohesive approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at our facility, you will primarily work with orthopedic patients, including athletes recovering from injuries, post-surgical patients, and individuals dealing with chronic pain or mobility limitations. Your compassionate approach and hands-on skills will play a vital role in influencing patients' rehab experiences and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State is required.
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited PTA program.
  • Certification in CPR/BLS is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable commitment to teamwork, patient engagement, and excellent communication.

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ years of outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, though we welcome applications from new graduates.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as WebPT or NetHealth is advantageous.
  • A keen interest or experience in manual therapy, functional movement, or performance rehabilitation.
  • A background in sports rehabilitation is a plus but not a strict requirement.
