Position Overview

Work Environment
This full-time position requires on-site work in our hospital facility, which offers a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to patient care. You will communicate and work alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create a seamless patient experience. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a balanced work-life lifestyle while focusing on delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Therapeutic Plans: Assist in executing individualized treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists to facilitate patient recovery.
- Guide Patient Exercises: Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and functional training designed to enhance their mobility and strength.
- Administer Treatment Modalities: Utilize modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy to alleviate pain and promote healing.
- Monitor Patient Progress: Regularly assess and document patient outcomes, providing updates to supervising Physical Therapists to adjust treatment as needed.
- Educate Patients: Provide comprehensive education to patients regarding home exercise programs and optimal recovery practices.
- Maintain Documentation: Ensure that all clinical records comply with HIPAA regulations and accurately reflect patient interactions and treatments.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work in concert with other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, holistic care that prioritizes the needs of the individual.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, athletes managing sports injuries, and patients with chronic joint or muscle conditions. You will engage with patients of varying ages, from young adults to seniors, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- Possession of an active Physical Therapist Assistant license in California.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, although an Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program will be considered.
- A minimum of two years of direct experience in a clinical setting, particularly in outpatient orthopedics.
- Proficient understanding of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on empathetic patient interactions.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is beneficial.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in outpatient orthopedic environments is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
