Position Overview
Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in San Jose, California. This full-time position offers you the opportunity to work directly with patients in a hospital-based rehabilitation setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering exceptional patient care and implementing individualized therapeutic treatment plans aimed at maximizing patient recovery and functional outcomes.

Work Environment
This position is conducted onsite at our hospital facility located in San Jose, California, known for its supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Our team-oriented environment encourages open communication and teamwork, allowing you to work closely with other healthcare professionals, including Occupational and Speech-Language Therapists. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient and clinic demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering tailored treatment plans focusing on restoring patients’ mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and physical activities that promote healing and alleviate pain, ensuring adherence to proper techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on exercise protocols, body mechanics, and home exercise programs to reinforce therapeutic goals.
- Administer therapeutic modalities under supervision, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound treatments, and applied heat/cold therapy, ensuring safety and proper technique.
- Monitor patient progress, accurately documenting improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities using our electronic health record system.
- Prepare and maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide emotional encouragement and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality, respecting each patient’s rights and privacy at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will directly impact a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgical interventions, those undergoing orthopedic or neurological rehabilitation, as well as older adults and children with special rehabilitation needs. You will play a pivotal role in their recovery, promoting functional independence and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy.
- Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with skills in patient rapport building and teamwork.
- A compassionate approach focused on patient-centered care, with a commitment to helping patients reach their rehabilitation goals.
- Ability to adapt treatment strategies based on varied patient conditions and needs, ensuring personalized approaches for care.

Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a hospital or rehabilitation clinic setting.
- Exposure to working with a multidisciplinary team focused on rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
