Position Overview

The Preferred Therapy Center is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our esteemed therapy team in San Jose, California. As a PTA, you will work in a collaborative environment alongside a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper technique and safety to facilitate recovery, improve mobility, and build strength.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, body mechanics, and self-management techniques to empower them to participate actively in their recovery.
  • Administer various therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and therapeutic heat/cool applications, always under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor, document, and report on patient progress, including changes in range of motion, strength, and functional abilities, to ensure continuous assessment and adjustment of treatment plans.
  • Maintain an organized treatment environment, preparing therapy areas and ensuring that equipment and supplies are properly stored and readily accessible for each session.
  • Collaborate with the broader healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care by participating in team meetings and sharing insights on patient progress.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process, fostering a motivating and positive atmosphere.
  • Comply with all ethical, legal, and safety guidelines set forth by the organization and governing bodies, ensuring patient confidentiality and professional integrity at all times.

Qualifications

  • An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
  • Current valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient evaluations under a Physical Therapist's supervision.

Compensation and Benefits
