Work Environment

This role will be performed onsite at a hospital-based outpatient facility in San Mateo, where you will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans as developed and directed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to best practices and therapeutic goals.
• Prepare therapy areas, ensuring that all necessary equipment is sanitized and set up prior to each session to maximize efficiency and patient safety.
• Monitor and document patient progress using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as WebPT, and communicate pertinent updates to the clinical team during regular meetings.
• Assist patients with exercises and treatments, demonstrating techniques effectively while providing motivational support throughout their rehabilitation.
• Perform administrative tasks, including managing patient schedules, assisting with intake processes, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth operation of the office.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work as a PTA will primarily focus on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues. You will engage with a diverse population, including athletes, elderly patients, and individuals who require diligent rehabilitative care. Your contributions are integral to enhancing their quality of life through targeted therapy interventions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• An active PTA license in the state of California is required.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in an outpatient setting, specifically in orthopedic rehabilitation, is necessary.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly WebPT, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated strong manual therapy skills and the ability to perform a range of therapeutic techniques effectively.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with advanced certifications in orthopedic rehabilitation and experience in implementing innovative clinical practices will be highly regarded. Compensation and Benefits
