Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, focusing on achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare treatment areas and therapy equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment for both patients and staff.
- Monitor patient progress throughout therapy sessions, documenting updates and concerns, and effectively communicating this information to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Manage administrative tasks, including patient intake processes, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and self-care strategies, facilitating ongoing recovery beyond the clinical setting.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our outpatient facility primarily serves individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. You will encounter a diverse patient population, ranging from athletes needing rehabilitation after a sports-related incident to older adults recovering from joint replacement surgeries. This role requires empathy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient engagement to effectively support individuals in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
- A current and active PTA license in the state of California.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an outpatient or similar healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as WebPT is highly preferred.
- Strong manual therapy skills and knowledge of therapeutic modalities to enhance patient care and recovery.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.
- Familiarity with specific orthopedic conditions and therapies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments and adjust care strategies based on treatment outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time Physical Therapist Assistant position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 85,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
