As a PTA, you'll have the opportunity to engage with a variety of medical professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, all working together to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that emphasize the improvement of patients’ mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities.
• Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, ensuring meticulous attention to detail for optimal patient safety and effectiveness.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and the significance of adherence to home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery.
• Administer therapeutic modalities—including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy—under the supervision of licensed physical therapists.
• Monitor and document patient progress diligently, including tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain treatment areas and ensure that all equipment and supplies are well-organized and accessible for therapy sessions.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation journey, fostering a motivational and positive environment.
• Adhere to ethical standards by maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting the rights of every individual.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, neurological disorders, and age-related ailments. Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation methodologies.
• Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities in accordance with PT directives.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, vital for building rapport with patients and collaborating seamlessly with healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting, particularly within a hospital environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 70,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
