Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing services that are planned and delegated by the Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Develop and refine effective treatment plans, obtaining necessary approvals from referring physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews to assess and interpret physical therapists’ evaluations, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Demonstrate proficiency and safety in employing various therapeutic procedures, modalities, and interventions tailored to the needs of orthopedic patients.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and communicate any patient care issues that may affect recovery progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Accurately document patient treatment and progress in electronic health records (EHR) according to organizational policies and healthcare standards.
- Monitor and record treatment modifications, ensuring that changes are implemented according to guidelines.
- Educate patients’ families and nursing staff on rehabilitation protocols, caregiver training, and maintenance programs prior to patient discharge.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, undergoing post-surgical rehabilitation, or dealing with chronic pain conditions. Your interactions will be focused on enhancing their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. The patient volume averages 1-2 patients per hour, allowing for personalized attention and care tailored to each individual’s rehabilitative journey.
Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
- Possession of a current and active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, healthcare staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities to manage clinic operations efficiently.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of clinic-based experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
