Work Environment

This full-time position will work Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, in a fast-paced hospital environment where teamwork and communication are essential. Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in executing individualized treatment plans that address patients’ specific injuries or physical conditions.
• Guide patients through a variety of exercises and stretches during therapy sessions, ensuring correct techniques to maximize recovery and reduce the risk of injury.
• Document and monitor patients’ progress meticulously, providing feedback to the supervising physical therapist to adapt treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and their families about at-home care protocols, tailored exercise routines, and safety measures to promote recovery outside of therapy sessions.
• Maintain and sanitize therapy equipment, ensuring that all tools are ready for use and compliant with health standards.
• Uphold all regulatory compliance standards, including state and federal guidelines as well as HIPAA requirements, to protect patient confidentiality and safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Gulf Side Physical Therapy, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population ranging from post-operative orthopedic patients to those requiring rehabilitation for sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and neurological disorders. You will play a crucial role in assisting patients of all ages in regaining their independence and improving their functional capabilities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
• A valid California PTA license or eligibility to obtain one is mandatory.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification or a willingness to secure certification upon hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting is preferred but can be adjusted for highly motivated candidates with less experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
• A genuine passion for patient care, exhibiting empathy, patience, and a determination to assist others in achieving their rehabilitation goals.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with extensive clinical exposure in a hospital setting, particularly those who have experience working with a variety of patient demographics and conditions. Candidates who demonstrate proficiency in using rehabilitation equipment and therapy software systems will also be prioritized.
