Position Overview

Mend Force Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team at our Monmouth Junction, New Jersey location. This role is essential in delivering high-quality patient care within an orthopedic outpatient clinic environment. As a PTA, you will be integral to our patient recovery process, working under the guidance of licensed physical therapists to implement comprehensive treatment plans aimed at restoring mobility, strength, and overall function.

Work Environment

This full-time position is housed onsite at a modern hospital facility in Monmouth Junction, NJ, where collaboration and teamwork are emphasized. You will work Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, in a fast-paced clinical setting where no two days are the same. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement therapy programs as designed by supervising physical therapists to assist patients in improving their mobility, strength, and functional capabilities.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities under the guidance of a physical therapist, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
  • Document all patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately using our advanced electronic medical records system to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients on proper techniques, posture, and home exercise programs, empowering them to achieve their rehabilitation goals safely between therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, clinic aides, and administrative staff to facilitate efficient patient flow and deliver comprehensive care.
  • Monitor patient progress closely, adapting treatment plans as necessary based on observed changes in the patient's condition, and communicating these to the supervising physical therapist and other healthcare providers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus on a diverse patient population, primarily individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your work will directly influence patients' functionality and quality of life, as you help them achieve their rehabilitation milestones through skilled and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have graduated from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A current and valid New Jersey PTA license is mandatory for application.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple patients and treatment plans efficiently.
  • CPR certification is required or the willingness to obtain certification prior to the start date.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with a preference for candidates with outpatient orthopedic experience.
