PhysioSpace LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic outpatient orthopedic team in Hopewell, New Jersey. Work Environment
This full-time position will be based onsite at our hospital facility in Hopewell, NJ. Here, you will interact with a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment committed to delivering exceptional care. The typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance while providing support to patients seeking to improve their physical health.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each patient's specific needs and rehabilitation goals.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, and functional activities designed to enhance their recovery.
- Administer modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, effectively promoting recovery and reducing pain.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, ensuring that any changes in patients’ conditions are communicated promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients on injury prevention strategies and develop personalized home exercise programs to support their ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
- Maintain clinical records accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, enhancing the overall treatment strategy and fostering seamless communication among all providers involved.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily engage with adult patients undergoing rehabilitation for orthopedic issues such as post-surgery recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your empathetic, patient-centered approach will be vital in building rapport with patients, offering them the encouragement and support they need throughout their recovery. By employing evidence-based practices and staying up to date on the latest rehabilitation techniques, you will facilitate positive outcomes and empower patients to take an active role in their healing process.
Qualifications
- An active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with an Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is required, although new graduates with clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and effective patient education techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills focused on fostering a supportive patient environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is an asset, enabling efficient management of patient information.
Preferred Experience
