Consonus Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Fresno, California. In this full-time onsite role, you will work directly under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist to deliver exceptional care to patients in a hospital setting. Work Environment
This position will be based in a bustling hospital facility in Fresno, where you will engage in direct patient care while working alongside a team of healthcare professionals. Your weekday schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent routine while enabling occasional flexibility to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment programs and procedures.
- Perform routine therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, and exercise regimens, ensuring adherence to established plans.
- Carefully observe and document patient responses and progress, reporting any notable changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Maintain accurate records for each patient, including treatment sessions, progress notes, and compliance with prescribed therapy.
- Engage with patients in a supportive manner, ensuring comfort and encouragement throughout their rehabilitation process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on adult patients dealing with orthopedic conditions or chronic pain syndromes. This patient population often requires compassionate support and tailored interventions to improve their mobility and alleviate discomfort. Your hands-on experience in working with these individuals will play a crucial role in their physical restoration and mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid and unrestricted California Physical Therapy Assistant license, or the ability to apply for licensure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and their families.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, ideally within a hospital or clinical setting.
- Background in orthopedic or chronic pain management is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $60,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
