Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a hospital setting, where you will be immersed in a collaborative team environment. Our facility features state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and resources that empower Physical Therapist Assistants to deliver exceptional care. The atmosphere fosters continuous learning and development, enhancing both patient outcomes and staff expertise. Our typical working hours are Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, ensuring a well-balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Physical Therapists in conducting thorough evaluations to assess patients' physical capabilities and limitations systematically.
  • Implementing individualized treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists to promote mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional abilities.
  • Employing hands-on manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and various modalities to address both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaboratively define the plans of care with physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
  • Providing education to patients and their families about home exercise regimens, the use of adaptive equipment, and strategies for injury prevention.
  • Documenting patient assessments, treatment activities, and progress notes accurately to comply with regulatory standards and internal company protocols.
  • Engaging in professional development by attending workshops, seeking additional certifications, and staying updated on best practices in orthopedic physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will primarily focus on working with individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other conditions affecting mobility and function. You will have the opportunity to impact patients from all age groups, tailoring treatments to meet their unique needs. Our comprehensive approach considers physical, emotional, and social factors contributing to patient recovery, allowing for holistic healing.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
  • Possession of a valid California PTA License and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey information to patients and their families.
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills with a keen eye for detail and patient safety.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of one year’s clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred, ideally in an orthopedic setting. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and continuing education in orthopedic physical therapy are additional advantages that will enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 70,000 annually based on experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
