Position Overview

Preferred Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Fresno, California. This full-time position requires an individual who is passionate about helping patients navigate their rehabilitation journeys. As a PTA, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our licensed Physical Therapists in implementing tailored therapeutic treatment plans.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite within a state-of-the-art hospital facility, designed to support the diverse needs of our patients. The PTA will collaborate closely with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals in an interdisciplinary setting. Typical working hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient schedules and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists in the administration of individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities tailored for promoting their physical well-being and alleviating pain.
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and at-home exercise regimens to facilitate continuous recovery outside the clinical setting.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of Physical Therapists.
  • Document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
  • Prepare treatment environments by ensuring that therapy equipment and supplies are organized and ready for use during patient sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team, which includes Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to enhance patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process, fostering a motivating atmosphere that promotes a positive healing experience.
  • Maintain ethical standards and patient confidentiality while ensuring respect for the rights of individuals under care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist Assistant will interact with a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatrics to senior adults, each with unique rehabilitation needs. Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A current and valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Compensation and Benefits
