Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients’ mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to relieve pain and promote physical wellness.
  • Educating patients regarding proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to support their rehabilitation journey.
  • Administering modalities (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat/cold therapy) under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Monitoring and meticulously documenting patients' progress, including improvements in range of motion and strength, to contribute to effective treatment evaluations.
  • Preparing treatment areas, ensuring the availability of equipment and supplies necessary for therapy sessions.
  • Engaging in comprehensive collaboration with the healthcare team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Providing emotional support and motivation to patients, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Maintaining high ethical standards and patient confidentiality in adherence with professional guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, ranging from young athletes to older adults recovering from surgery. This variety allows you to adapt treatment strategies to unique individual needs, ensuring that patients receive the most effective and personalized care possible.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • A sound understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and relevant therapeutic interventions in physical therapy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities while collaborating with licensed Physical Therapists.

Compensation and Benefits
