Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans for patients, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility activities that aim to reduce pain and promote physical health.
  • Educate patients on body mechanics, effective exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to facilitate a smoother recovery process.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities to update treatment plans as needed.
  • Prepare treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for therapy sessions, maximizing efficiency.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a positive, motivating atmosphere in which they feel empowered to succeed in their rehabilitation journey.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respecting their rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Compensation and Benefits
