Position Overview

MotionUp Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Suffolk, Virginia. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work onsite in a hospital setting, providing essential rehabilitation services to a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by licensed physical therapists.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve patient mobility, strength, endurance, and overall functional ability.
  • Monitor and document patient progress using point-of-service documentation through iPad technology.
  • Educate patients about their treatment plan, ensuring they understand exercises and modifications that will support their recovery.
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation teams to develop strategies that enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation processes to ensure treatment plans are adjusted according to patient feedback and recovery progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of our therapy practice is primarily on elderly patients, many of whom reside in skilled nursing facilities or require rehabilitation after surgical procedures. Our team is dedicated to understanding the unique challenges faced by our patients, advocating for their needs, and providing support through empathetic and effective therapy.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold an associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistance, with new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Possess an active Physical Therapist Assistant license valid in the state of Virginia.
  • Exhibit the capability to practice physical therapy in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with and aiding elderly patients.

Preferred Experience

While new graduates are welcome, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Hands-on experience working in a skilled nursing facility or equivalent rehabilitation setting.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and skilled nursing facility (SNF) systems such as Net Health or Casamba.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively respond to patient needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate comprehensive and clear interactions with patients, families, and team members.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications. In addition to the attractive salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
