Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing treatment plans as designed by physical therapists, providing hands-on physical therapy services that alleviate pain and restore functionality.
  • Conducting therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, and mobility training tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Utilizing a variety of physical agents, including heat, cold therapy, electrical stimulation, and massage, to aid in the therapeutic process.
  • Monitoring patient progress closely and communicating any changes in their condition to supervising therapists, ensuring the care provided is adapted to meet evolving needs.
  • Educating patients on the safe use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, and prosthetics, empowering them to achieve independence.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records, treatment notes, and documentation in accordance with established timelines and standards.
  • Participating in ongoing interdisciplinary meetings and organization-wide educational programs to enhance personal and team development.
  • Engaging in quality assessment initiatives to continuously improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.
  • Remaining flexible to perform additional duties as needed to support team and patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those managing chronic pain, and patients requiring rehabilitative care after injuries or medical events. Our commitment to individualized care ensures that every treatment plan is tailored to the unique needs of each patient, focusing on their specific recovery goals and functional support.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program, with a concentration in science or applied science recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
