Progressive Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our orthopedic outpatient team in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida. Work Environment
Our center operates in a dynamic hospital setting that prioritizes collaboration and communication among staff members. The role requires the PTA to work onsite during regular weekdays, specifically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life experience. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients through various therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper technique to enhance recovery and prevent injury.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track patient outcomes to report effectively to supervising therapists, using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT.
- Organize and clean therapy areas to maintain a safe and inviting environment for patients and staff alike.
- Help in scheduling patient appointments and manage administrative tasks to streamline workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to evaluations of patients’ balance and coordination, supporting comprehensive treatment plans.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As part of our outpatient orthopedic clinic, the PTA will work primarily with individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic pain conditions. The patient caseload typically consists of 1 to 2 patients per hour, allowing for a focused and personalized approach to rehabilitation. This interaction not only fosters deep understanding of patient needs but also enhances their overall treatment experience, improving their recovery outcomes.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid PTA license in the state of Florida.
- Completion of a degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating proficiency in delivering patient care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; WebPT is highly preferred.
- Experience in manual therapy techniques is a plus but not mandatory.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong clinical acumen to connect with patients and colleagues effectively.
Preferred Experience
While candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in outpatient therapy will be prioritized, those who have engaged in specialized orthopedic training or have a background in sports rehabilitation will be favored. Such experience will add value to the methodologies employed within our clinic.
Compensation and Benefits
