Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite at our established hospital facility. Here, you will be part of a team that emphasizes compassionate patient care and evidence-based practices, working Monday to Friday, with typical shifts from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to gather critical information on their physical capabilities and limitations which will inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing therapeutic interventions designed to improve patient mobility, strength, and function.
  • Provide hands-on support during exercises, stretching maneuvers, and the use of therapeutic equipment to alleviate pain and facilitate recovery.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment protocols, home exercise programs, and strategies for managing pain and promoting rehabilitation at home.
  • Document patient progress meticulously, noting responses to therapy and making timely recommendations for adjustments in care plans.
  • Collaboration is key; you will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgical procedures, as well as those requiring rehabilitation for chronic pain conditions. Our focus on Orthopedic and Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine ensures that you engage with a diverse patient population while advancing their recovery and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant License in the state of Florida.
  • Aptitude for conducting patient assessments and developing personalized care strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and support to patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

While two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant are required, prior exposure to a hospital setting will be considered a valuable asset. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is also preferred, as continuity of care and accurate documentation play an essential role in our practice.

Compensation and Benefits
