Work Environment

The work environment is professional and supportive, characterized by a strong emphasis on teamwork and communication among healthcare professionals. The PTA will primarily work onsite, providing direct care in our outpatient orthopedic unit. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable work-life balance while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s unique needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises and mobility training to enhance their physical capabilities; for instance, leading them in specific weight-bearing activities or stretching regimens designed to improve flexibility.
• Administer modalities such as ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, and specific manual therapy techniques to facilitate healing.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, ensuring that all findings are communicated effectively to the supervising Physical Therapist during scheduled evaluations.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs, important recovery practices, and lifestyle modifications to sustain improvement after discharge.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of patient records while managing detailed clinical documentation.
• Actively engage in teamwork, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver cohesive and coordinated care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with adults experiencing a variety of orthopedic conditions including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, chronic pain, and rehabilitation for critical movements necessary for daily living. Your ability to relate to patients with compassion and understanding will be key in fostering a supportive recovery environment.

Qualifications

• Current and active PTA license in California.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in outpatient orthopedic settings; however, we welcome new graduates who have completed clinical rotations to apply.
• Proven competence in therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques, along with a strong commitment to patient education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on developing rapport with patients and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems is an advantage, enhancing the efficiency of documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience
