Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Executing individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, working intensively with patients during rehabilitation sessions.
- Guiding patients through prescribed therapy exercises, ensuring proper techniques are employed to maximize effectiveness and minimize risk of injury.
- Monitoring patient progress and meticulously documenting changes in their condition and response to treatment, giving timely updates to the supervising therapist.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in treatment areas, and ensuring all rehabilitation equipment is utilized correctly and safely.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT.
- Conducting essential functional movement, balance, and coordination assessments to support initial evaluations and ongoing adjustments in therapeutic techniques.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population suffering from orthopedic issues, including post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, sports injuries, and movement disorders. You will foster meaningful relationships with patients, offering both physical support and emotional encouragement as they navigate their rehabilitation journeys.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- An accredited Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
- A valid and active PTA license in the state of Florida.
- Strong communication skills, allowing you to effectively connect with patients and their families.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while being attentive to the specific needs of each individual.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of outpatient experience is preferred, we encourage candidates who are passionate about building their careers in physical therapy and have a commitment to ongoing professional development. Compensation and Benefits
