Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Emerald Valley PT, you will primarily work onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, equipped with modern technology and tools necessary for effective rehabilitation. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with licensed Physical Therapists and other allied health professionals to ensure our patients receive comprehensive care. Your schedule will typically be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists in the evaluation and administration of therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patient mobility and reducing pain.
  • Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans while maintaining clear communication with supervising Physical Therapists about patients' progress and any significant changes.
  • Document patient assessments, progress, and treatment outcomes in electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accurate and timely medical records.
  • Educate and instruct patients on exercises and functional activities to promote recovery and prevent further injury.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety standards and protocols to safeguard patient well-being.
  • Engage with patients in a supportive and motivational manner, fostering a positive rehabilitation environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will be responsible for providing tailored support and guidance that empowers patients on their recovery journeys. Given the focus on outpatient services, you will work with diverse age groups and varying conditions, adapting therapeutic activities accordingly to meet each patient's unique needs.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
  • A valid Florida State Physical Therapy Assistant License or proof of equivalent educational credentials approved by the state.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in clinical patient care, which includes direct patient interaction and therapy administration.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, particularly related to orthopedic rehabilitation and mobility improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
