Position Overview
As a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Mend Force Physical Therapy, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation journey of patients recovering from injuries and surgeries in a hospital environment. You will work directly under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans that aim to enhance mobility, strength, and overall physical function. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of therapy programs developed by supervising physical therapists, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines that promote safe and effective rehabilitation.
- Deliver therapeutic exercises, administer manual therapy, and utilize neuromuscular reeducation techniques as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
- Document patient treatments, responses, and progress meticulously using our electronic medical record (EMR) system to track progress and enhance continuity of care.
- Instruct patients on proper techniques, postural awareness, and at-home exercise programs that foster recovery and prevent re-injury.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor patient progress and effectively adjust treatment plans based on objective assessments and patient feedback.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding any changes in the patient’s condition to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily engage with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, surgeries, and other musculoskeletal impairments. This diverse population includes post-operative patients, athletes, and individuals dealing with chronic pain or mobility limitations. Your role will be pivotal in not only aiding in physical recovery but also in motivating and educating patients on their rehabilitation journey.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
- Licensure: A current and valid New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license is mandatory.
- Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills are essential for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
- Certifications: CPR certification is required prior to employment or willingness to obtain it before starting work.
Preferred Experience
