Vital Body Wellness is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Henderson, Nevada. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic PTA, you will perform various functions daily to ensure patients receive high-quality rehabilitation services. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in gathering patient data through measures such as functional assessments and range of motion tests, facilitating accurate initial evaluations.
  • Implementing assigned therapeutic plans by performing exercises and manual therapy techniques as delegated by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress, carefully noting any changes in their condition and reporting these to the supervising therapist to adjust treatment protocols as necessary.
  • Educating patients and their families on prescribed exercises and home care techniques, ensuring they understand their roles in the recovery process.
  • Coordinating treatment plans with other clinical services within the hospital and integrating community resources to better support patient needs.
  • Engaging in clinical meetings to discuss patient care strategies and contribute to ongoing departmental improvements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient demographic at Vital Body Wellness primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and chronic pain conditions. As a PTA, you'll work closely with diverse orthopedic patients, ranging from active adults to seniors recovering from joint replacements. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in their rehabilitation, helping them regain strength, mobility, and independence through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, with applicable coursework related to physical therapy.
  • A valid Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Nevada Board of Physical Therapy upon hire.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, to be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Proven competence in physical therapy principles and techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients, families, and a diverse team of professionals.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience as a PTA is required, candidates with specific experience in orthopedic therapy or working with post-operative patients will be given preference. Familiarity with computerized documentation systems and rehabilitation software is also advantageous.
