Position Overview
Emerald Valley PT is seeking a dedicated and proactive Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team at our Miami, Florida facility. In this full-time role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting Physical Therapists in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients dealing with orthopedic injuries and post-surgical recovery. Work Environment
The Physical Therapist Assistant will operate onsite in a hospital setting which features modern equipment and treatment modalities tailored for rehabilitation. As part of your daily routine, you will engage with a diverse patient demographic in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for health and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Licensed Physical Therapists in implementing and modifying skilled therapy interventions to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall physical functioning.
- Perform hands-on therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education on home exercise programs to empower patients in their recovery journey.
- Regularly assess patient progress and communicate updates and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members, ensuring continuity of care.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), adhering to best practice standards for documentation.
- Educate patients and caregivers about therapy goals, treatment plans, and preventive care, helping them to understand and participate in their rehabilitation process.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and case conferences aimed at improving practice standards and patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work primarily with orthopedic patients, which will include individuals recovering from surgical procedures, athletes recovering from injuries, and those dealing with chronic pain conditions. Our focus is on personalized therapy that aligns with each patient's unique needs and rehabilitation goals, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
- A valid and active Florida State Physical Therapist Assistant License is required.
- Proficient understanding of orthopedic treatment protocols and physical therapy practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues alike.
- Experience with electronic health records systems to efficiently manage patient documentation.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a related outpatient therapy setting, preferably with an orthopedic focus.
- Familiarity with contemporary therapeutic techniques and treatment modalities.
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Compensation and Benefits
Your compensation will range between $60,000 and $75,000 annually, depending on experience, along with a competitive benefits package that includes:
