Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized rehabilitation programs tailored to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
- Monitor patient progress, documenting changes in condition and effectiveness of therapies, and communicate findings effectively to the physical therapists and the healthcare team.
- Maintain organized medical records for all assigned patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Perform functional therapeutic activities, facilitating recovery and promoting independence among patients in their rehabilitation process.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and other activities to support ongoing care and recovery.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient information and treatment plans effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily provide outpatient care to a diverse population that includes athletes, senior patients, and individuals recovering from surgical procedures or injuries. Your focus will be on working closely with patients who require rehabilitation services due to musculoskeletal conditions, neurological impairments, and post-operative recovery needs. Your contribution directly impacts their quality of life, empowering them to regain their independence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent program approved by the Florida State Board.
- Current Florida State Physical Therapy Assistant License (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting focused on patient care, ideally in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
- Thorough understanding of therapeutic techniques, treatment modalities, and patient care protocols.

- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
