Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility located in Fresno, California. As part of our dynamic team, you will work closely with a range of healthcare professionals including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Our modern treatment environment is designed to enhance recovery and provides various modalities and tools necessary for effective therapy sessions. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to adapt to patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing customized treatment plans that address the specific rehabilitation goals of patients.
• Guide patients through their therapeutic exercises, ensuring correct form and providing motivational support throughout the sessions.
• Educate patients and their families on the importance of body mechanics and proper exercise techniques, enhancing their understanding of their recovery journey.
• Administer various physical therapy modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and heat/cold treatments, while under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Document and monitor patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in strength, range of motion, and overall functionality.
• Maintain an organized treatment area, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for use during therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care coordination and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Provide essential emotional support to patients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment that promotes healing.
• Uphold professional standards by ensuring patient confidentiality and ethical treatment at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, ranging from postoperative rehabilitation patients to those dealing with chronic conditions requiring long-term care. You will work with individuals of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric patients, tailoring treatment based on their specific physical therapy needs. Your role will play a critical part in helping patients achieve their personal rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with proven knowledge of physical therapy standards and modalities.
• Hands-on experience implementing therapeutic interventions in a clinical setting.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• A compassionate, patient-centered attitude focused on supporting patients during their recovery process.
• Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital or rehabilitation facility is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
